Know Our Health Initiatives

The Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS) integrated with AB PMJAY is a flagship Tamil Nadu government program. Implemented through United India Insurance Company, it provides free, cashless hospitalization to low-income families earning under ₹1,20,000 annually. Beneficiaries can access over 2053 medical procedures up to ₹5,00,000 per family every year across 2194 empanelled public and private hospitals state-wide.

The Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency Care Initiative (TAEI) transformed standard casualty wards into modern emergency departments to treat life-threatening emergencies. TAEI explicitly targets myocardial infarction, burns, poison/bites, PREM, trauma, and stroke to reduce preventable mortality. Over 113 facilities across government are equipped with advanced facilities. The digital TAEI Registry 2.0 connects hospitals and ambulances to streamline patient tracking, triage, and care delivery.

The 108 Emergency Ambulance Service in Tamil Nadu is a free, 24/7 public-private partnership providing rapid pre-hospital care. Operating a fleet of over 1,350 GPS-tracked vehicles, including advanced life support and neonatal units, it deploys trained medical technicians to stabilize critical patients. The centralized system minimizes response times to deliver life-saving care during the crucial "golden hour."

Nalam AI is a groundbreaking, WhatsApp-based digital healthcare assistant launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu. By saving 96192 22999 and sending a "Hi" message, citizens can easily self-register and book Outpatient (OP) hospital appointments from home. This user-friendly bilingual chatbot effectively eliminates long queues, allowing patients to instantly access prescriptions, locate nearby government medical facilities, and retrieve digital laboratory reports securely.

The Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Limited (TNMSC) is a pioneering state-government undertaking to streamline healthcare supply chains. Operating as a central nodal agency, it uses a transparent, IT-enabled open tender system to procure, quality-test, and distribute drugs, consumables, and high-end medical equipment to the Government hospitals across the State. It controls the rate by annual rate contract, bulk purchase and etc.
